Plot Threads
Active and resolved threads across the campaign. See individual session pages for full context.
Active Threads
- Break Mara Sato out of REIS Six — the crew’s next mission, and a promise all four PCs committed to on the record. Action phase only, no legwork, with the clock pre-ticked to “target on full alert.” See Session 2, Clocks.
- The NSMC footage of the crew — the data stick holds clean, identifiable video of the crew’s previous job. Bullfrog’s doctored version still shows Muktar, and Bullfrog secretly kept a backup of the original. The crew holds it; nobody else knows they do.
- The drop nobody is attending — Mara’s VYRAL contact expects the data stick at a public train station roughly twelve hours after Session 2’s end. It isn’t coming.
- Outside parties noticed the handoff — the crew traded away “the meeting doesn’t attract outside attention” on Get Paid, and the GM confirmed something comes of it. See Clocks.
- Muktar was recognized as Ora by REIS security at the handoff — his rising arena profile is now an active operational liability. See Muktar.
- Iona Glass’s real job — Mara guesses her mother’s actual function is control of access across REIS Six, beneath the Corporate Risk and Recovery title. Unconfirmed. Speckz banked Assess hold on her for the breakout.
- Lucky Strike wants to catch up — Mike gave Speckz Arioso a contact number and an open invitation to see Lucky, head of the gang Speckz grew up in. Deferred until after the job. See Lucky Strike.
- Bullfrog’s secret side job — an unidentified contact recruited him mid-Session 1 to breach a Kessauer/K-Net system for an NSMC-encrypted video file, paying in “reputation” rather than credits. He still hasn’t told the crew. Note that the Session 1 file was Kessauer-encrypted while Mara’s was NSMC-tagged, so they are not obviously the same object. See Bullfrog.
- VYRAL/NSMC wetware program — exposed publicly by the crew during their pre-campaign job; both corps are now aware of and hostile toward them. See VYRAL, NSMC.
- REIS network security is aware of an intrusion — tied to Bullfrog’s hack into Iona Glass’s “Special Projects” data; whether it’s been traced to the crew specifically is unconfirmed. See Clocks.
- Muktar’s debt to Kestrel — owes an unspecified debt to whoever/whatever Kestrel needed found before she died. See Muktar.
- Neon Drift’s search for his mother — missing among the scattered Van Life diaspora. See Neon Drift.
- Van Morrison — refused, not neutralized, after demanding Neon Drift rejoin Van Life. See Van Morrison.
- Van Life is currently “under” Van Morrison — unclear what this costs the group or how it can be broken. See Van Life.
- Camper Van Beethoven’s suspected collusion with Rest Easy — unconfirmed accusation from Van Helsing regarding the unpatched arcology-key exploit. See Camper Van Beethoven.
- Getting wheels back under Van Helsing — Neon Drift’s standing goal, now with a second beneficiary: reuniting Van Helsing with Slim Jimmy as a food-truck operation.
- Speckz’s unassigned Filial directive — the name in the blank is still undecided; his former sergeant and Lucky were both floated. See Speckz Arioso.
- The pusher faction ally — an anti-VYRAL, pro-information-freedom faction that reached out to the crew after their previous job; not yet named or detailed.
- Who really hired the crew for the previous job — left deliberately ambiguous: the runner-up esports team, or a rival corp’s deniable agents posing as them.
- The Velvet Bailiff’s footage of the crew — anonymized but public footage from the crew’s previous job, aired on VYRAL; low-grade exposure risk. See VYRAL.
Resolved Threads
- Find Mara Sato and the arcology keys — the Sato job, a single mission (“Mission 2, Ghost Route”) spanning Session 1’s Legwork and Session 2’s Action phase. Resolved at the end of Session 2: Mara was located in the Tangle and delivered to Iona Glass; the crew was paid two cred each. The keys went back with her and are expiring anyway.
- Why VYRAL gave Mara the arcology keys — resolved: they were payment for stealing a data stick from NSMC’s Under Sector tunnels.
- Iona Glass’s personal connection to Mara Sato — resolved: she is Mara’s mother, deliberately concealed from the crew.
