Overview
The dominant — arguably only legal — developer of residential real estate in Knight City, and specifically the outfit on the bleeding edge of building upward. AXIS holds a de facto monopoly on legal residential construction, paid for and protected by the city. As a side venture, they’ve also bought up much of the city’s lower-level slum housing.
Construction is layered by wealth: new, well-maintained towers go up at the top for elites, while older stock lower down is left to deteriorate — there’s no incentive to maintain housing for people who can’t afford better anyway. Bullfrog grew up in one of AXIS’s slum-tier holdings.
Works hand-in-glove with Rest Easy Interstate Services: AXIS builds a new development at some upper level, Rest Easy builds (and tolls) the road infrastructure to reach it — access effectively restricted to residents who can afford both the housing and the commute.
